Vimeo Launches on Xbox 360

Vimeo application for Xbox 360

Today Xbox users have been treated to an official Vimeo app, for viewing high quality content straight through their consoles.

Vimeo isn’t really a competitor to YouTube. Vimeo aims to limit their uploads to only original content, whereas YouTube really goes for everything and everything. However, Vimeo are quite far behind YouTube with their Xbox release, but better late than never.

The app is heavily based on Microsoft’s tiled interface, like all Xbox apps at the moment. However the colour scheme makes the app look just as good as the desktop website.

At the moment, the app is only available to Xbox Gold subscribers.

Rob Boyle

Here it is, yet another Google advert to make me love their marketing campaigns even more. This one uses focuses on Wallace & Gromit and characters from Chicken Run, Shaun the Sheep and Creature Comforts, who use Google Hangout to communicate with each other over the Christmas period. It only lasts a minute, but it’s a bit of festive fun which has certainly got me in the Christmas spirit.

The year is almost up, and it’s been a good one for the internet. This has to be YouTube’s most popular year, with viral videos being the topic of conversation all year round. To celebrate 2012, Google invited YouTube’s biggest hits along to a combination video. The whole video is basically people you have seen throughout the year dancing along to Gangnam Style and Call Me Maybe, but it’s a fitting way to end a brilliant year for viral videos.

After you’ve watched that, make sure to watch the behind the scenes!
