The Android Robot Was Almost Terrifying

Since the recent highs of Android over the past couple of years, the Android mascot has become hugely recognisable. It’s cute form-factor is nearly always stood by the side of any phone advertisement, proudly promoting the product as an Android. However the little green robot we all know and love was almost a pretty-darn-terrifying, swirly eyed looking death machine…or at least that’s what it looked like.

The images were posted on Google+ by the company’s very own Dan Morrill, who reveals in a post that the images were thrown together in a couple of hours and were due to be shown at an internal presentation, but they were ultimately replaced soon after. Thank Goodness!

Google Recommends The iPad…To Giraffes

Rob Boyle

The battle between Google and Apple will probably never end. Both companies produce amazing products which are tested and compared each year, and usually the public decides on a winner. One thing we never thought we’d see though, is Google recommending the iPad in one of its key features, Google Now on Android Jelly Bean.

A problem in the Google Now system has caused the voice feedback to describe the giraffe in a slightly odd manner. Asking ‘what is a giraffe’ brings back a response like you would expect, however ends by saying, ‘he now praises the giraffe’.

Odd, to say the least. Some people think that the problem arises when the description reaches the word ‘which’, but it’s definitely a glitch that will no doubt be fixed soon enough. Have some fun with it while you can!

Facebook Pages Manager for Android

After  launching on iOS months ago, Facebook have launched ‘Pages Manager’ for Android. As the name would suggest, Pages Manager allows you to, well, manage your Facebook page. The app shows you the latest insights of the page, such as people who have recently liked the page, interacted with it and have shared it. It looks very similar to the standard Facebook app but is much easier to operate for people who mainly use Facebook for their page.
