Google Now Coming To Desktop?

A recent update to the open source Chromium browser suggests that Google’s voice assistant could be making an appearance on desktop very soon.

Google Now is a search service for Android which displays search results in easy-to-read cards, and has become one of the operating system’s most popular feature since it’s release earlier this year. It’s a feature which has currently only made it’s way onto mobiles and tablets, however the introduction to desktop could help to further sync each Google account across multiple devices.

In the documentation of the latest Chromium update, there is significant mention of Google Now, and the mention of how to get the cards to show in the browser window. No word from Google on how this might work, but as an Android and Chromebook owner, this is extremely exciting stuff.
