A Look At Kim Dotcom’s Megabox

Kim Dotcom has released a video teasing his new music service, Megabox. The website is his first venture since his previous success, Megaupload, was closed by the US Government.

The premise of Megabox is a simple one, but it’s quite brilliant. The website aims to eliminate the record labels which come between artist’s and their direct earnings. By removing the middle-man, Megabox provides the artists that sign up with a direct way of earning money. What’s more, the website doesn’t cost. Free accounts for both listeners and artists suggest that the new service could be on it’s way to being another huge hit. Unlike Megaupload, Megabox doesn’t appear to break any rules, it seems completely legal.
